Forensic Science

“Exciting”, “challenging”, “interesting”, “brilliant” – just some of the things our students say about Forensic Science at DMU.

The programme covers all aspects of forensic science; whilst concentrating on forensic biology and chemistry the forensic “context” is not overlooked; you will learn about criminal justice, case studies and, of course, get plenty of opportunity to practice your crime scene processing skills in our Crime Scene House close to the University. The course is accredited in all three component standards by the Forensic Science Society (FSSoc).

Each year, the best performing graduate is recognized and receives a prize from the Chief Constable of Leicester Constabulary during a prize giving ceremony at Force HQ.

There will be plenty of hands-on experience in first-class laboratory facilities, including a dedicated Forensic Science lab and will get the opportunity to lead and develop your own research during the final year Project and Professional Skills module. So, if you like challenging lab work and problem solving then this could be the course for you.

You will also be part of a large community of students who are studying science and other related courses in the Faculty which means you get to interact with a whole host of people and exchange views and ideas
