We are passionate about our subject and committed to providing a high quality learning environment for everyone who studies with us.  As a student of psychology at DMU, you will enjoy access to outstanding university facilities and services, as well as a range of excellent resources reserved exclusively for the use of psychology students.

We offer a range of undergraduate programmes in psychology.  These include the BSc Psychology, the BSc Psychology with Criminology, the BSc Psychology with Health Studies and the BSc Psychology with Education Studies, all of which are accredited by the British Psychological Society as conferring eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, provided the minimum standard of a Second Class Honours degree is achieved.  This is the first step towards becoming a Chartered Psychologist.

At postgraduate level, we offer the MSc Health Psychology, which is also accredited by the British Psychological Society, and the MSc Psychological Wellbeing, as well as opportunities for research degrees leading to MPhil and PhD qualifications.

Our programmes are taught by a large and welcoming staff group based in Hawthorn, an attractive Victorian building located just a few minutes walk from Leicester City centre.  Psychology staff are involved in a wide range of research which spans the breadth of the discipline of psychology.  Current projects include work on problem eating behaviour in children, communication in health care settings, reasoning and decision-making, face recognition, experiences of breastfeeding in first time mothers, and test anxiety and wellbeing in students.  For a full list of staff and their research interests, please click here.

These pages provide information about our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, staff, research, and facilities.
