Vice-President Welfare and Community - Jessica Okwuonu
Your De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) Vice President Welfare and Community for 2017/18 is Jessica Okwuonu.
Wellbeing and care are incredibly important to your new VP Welfare, Jessica, who’s hoping to create smiles and boost positivity this year.
Having graduated this summer with a degree in Information Communication Technology, Jessica hopes to combine welfare with artificial intelligence at some point in the future, as well as explore other countries and continue her caring manner by helping to build communities. She likes to see the results of her efforts and wanted to be the voice that communicates the importance of being happy and enjoying your time at uni.
From promoting awareness, creating campaigns to solve problems and helping to deal with student concerns, as your VP Welfare Jessica’s key responsibilities are to put you at the heart of everything she does.
She’s passionate about promoting the importance of wellbeing and recognising that you can ask for help. By doing so she hopes to ensure that you feel more part of the community and enjoy your time at university.
Safe Havens – A room on campus for students to go and relax.
Support On and Off Campus – Increase support within the university and local community.
Diverse Community – More celebration and support for minority students at DMU.
