Hundreds of student opportunities to choose from at Thursday's Activities Fair

New students will get their first opportunity to sign up to the wide range of student activities available at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) this Thursday.

The famous Activities Fair will take place from 10am-4pm on Thursday 28 September at the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre.

Filled with sports clubs and societies looking for new recruits, students can become part of DMU’s incredible student experience which has recently been named in the UK’s top 10.

De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) has over 100 societies for you to choose from plus plenty of volunteering opportunities.

DMU Sport has 50+ sports teams who compete every Wednesday in British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) competitions too.

And they will all be there, telling you about the experiences and success they’ve had during their time at DMU.

Getting involved in Student Activities is something which you can include on your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) which contributes to your all round employability.

Derrick Mensah, Vice President Student Activities at DSU, said: “Freshers Week is a great time to meet new people; and that’s exactly what the Activities Fair is all about.

“I want to encourage as many students as possible to come down to the QEII Leisure Centre this Thursday to see what all of our combined 140 sports clubs, societies and volunteering groups have to offer, and there will also be a chance to sign up to your favourites there and then.

“Take this opportunity to come and find out what you can get involved in and use your experiences to enhance your skills and build your character.”

You can follow everything going on throughout the rest of Freshers Week on Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram.
