At DMU we’re committed to providing the best student experience possible. That’s why we launched the new MyDMU student portal a few weeks ago. This gives you all the key info you need in one place so you can get more from your studies and take advantage of the wider support services available. That’s not all - the new portal comes with an easy-to-use mobile app (available on Android and Apple devices) so you can access your personal info wherever you are.

You said, we’ll do
So far, an incredible 23,000 individual students have logged in to use the system. Features including Email, Timetable, and Blackboard Lite have been accessed more than 380,000 times and nearly 10,000 students have downloaded the mobile app.
We’re really pleased with the student engagement and take-up of this new platform but, through your feedback, we’re aware of some teething problems and we’re eager to keep improving your experience over the next few weeks and months. As a result of your feedback we’re committing to the following improvements:
- A Library Tile giving you access to your library account so you can view and renew loans, review reservations and identify any outstanding chargeslaunches today. The new Tile will also include a link to useful resources including the full library catalogue.
- Changing the presentation of the student timetable, including merging activities that have multiple rooms or teachers to a single row (launching before the New Year)
- Notifications and alerts sent to your mobile devices whenever there are timetable changes (launching before the New Year)
- Layout customisation so you can arrange and order your tiles in a way that works for you (launching in February 2018).
If you have any questions or want to provide further feedback, please use the speech bubble located at the top left hand side of the MyDMU homepage.
We’ll also be running a series of student consultations over the next few weeks to inform longer term improvements (keep a look out for more information on how you can take part).
