Starting a business

If you are thinking of starting your own business or working for yourself, the Enterprise Team can help provide you with the right advice and guidance to get your business off the ground.

From lingerie design to festival taxis, hard work and dedication means hundreds of innovative ideas from DMU students and graduates have flourished into successful businesses with the help of the Enterprise Team.

Enterprising events help to increase your business start-up knowledge and provide valuable inspiration to develop your idea, whatever type of business you are looking to start.

Getting involved with the Enterprise Team isn’t just about starting a business. It is also about developing enterprising skills that could help you stand out from the crowd when you are starting out in the world of work. Pitch2Win and Start-up Sessions will now count towards your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) demonstrating to future employers you have developed enterprising skills. Find out how you can be more enterprising while at DMU.

DMU graduate Charlie Evans set up her own business with the support of DMU. Her story was recently featured in top magazine, The Economist, which revealed how DMU graduates are helping Leicester match London for new business success.
