Getting involved with the Enterprise Team isn’t just about starting a business. It is also about developing enterprising skills that could help you stand out from the crowd when you are starting out in the world of work. Pitch2Win and Start-up Sessions will now count towards your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) demonstrating to future employers you have developed enterprising skills. DMU graduate Charlie Evans set up her own business with the support of DMU. Her story was recently featured in top magazine, The Economist, which revealed how DMU graduates are helping Leicester match London for new business success.
Featured Business - Grey House England
Award winning designer Charlie Evans studied Graphic Design and Illustration at De Montfort University. Shortly after graduating in 2014, Charlie successfully secured a place on Enterprise Inc, a 6 month project which aimed to help DMU graduates start their own business.
With the help and support of the project, Charlie launched Grey House England, a pioneer in eco-friendly fashion with all of their products being handmade from corrugated cardboard, including the world's first woven cardboard bag.
After completing Enterprise Inc, De Montfort University continuted to support Grey House England through the Crucible Project and winning DMU funding to help bring the innovative products to market.
