Graduate internships for DMU
DMU graduate internships provide recent graduates the opportunity to gain paid experience in their chosen career field. Organisations will inform De Montfort University of vacancies they are recruiting for. We then advertise the positions to our registered graduates who can then apply for any roles they are interested in.
How does it work?
Once you have registered, you will be informed of the latest vacancies by email. To apply for any positions you are interested in, you will be required to submit your CV and cover letter to the company. If you are selected to be interviewed the company will contact you to arrange an interview.
If you are successful in securing an internship, you will work in a small/medium sized business based in Leicester for 28 hours per week over a 13 week period. Depending on the company’s circumstances, the company may keep you on after the 13 weeks.
Some organisations are looking to recruit permanent employees and see the internship as a way of testing out a candidate’s suitability for the position, other companies have vacancies for a short period of time.
Many of our interns have secured permanent positions with the company after the internship. Both options can provide you with valuable experience to help you in your future career.
Will I be paid?
You will be paid £7.72 per hour and will also accrue holiday pay.
Am I eligible to apply?
To be eligible:
- You must have graduated from De Montfort University in the last three years (2012, 2013 and 2014)
