Internships are temporary positions with an emphasis on on-the-job training, they can be paid or unpaid. We deliver two internship schemes to DMU students and recent graduates, Frontrunners and Graduate Champions.
The schemes offer students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain quality work experience, enabling you to develop key skills that employers look for when recruiting graduates.
Current DMU students can apply for internships through the Frontrunners scheme and recent, eligible graduates can apply to our Graduate Champions Scheme.
The Frontrunners scheme offers you the opportunity to apply for paid internships working on real tasks, with current DMU employees.
Internships vary from administration roles and social media work to supporting the Vice-Chancellor's Office and project work within faculties and DMU's professional services departments, as well as some lab-based opportunites.
The length of the internship will be either three, six or nine months, depending on the role and duties involved.
The number of hours on offer differs from internship to internship but most are limited to a maximum 10 per week during term time and 16 hours per week during holiday periods. There are also a small number of full-timer six week opportunities available.
