Your rights - equality and job seeking

The Equality Act 2010 states that the following characteristics are protected characteristics within the law: age, disability, gender reassignment/identity, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. Within employment this means that you should not be discriminated against because you belong to one or more of these protected characteristics.

If you have any worries or concerns about the impact your protected characteristics may have on your job applications or employment, you can book an appointment with one of our careers consultants. They will provide you with support with your career choice, job hunting and job applications.
