Employee Assistance Programme
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): 24 hour Counselling and Information Services.
This benefit is available to all staff and their dependants as employees of DMU. The EAP offers you immediate access to 24 hour telephone counselling and legal and financial information services, provided by an independent health and wellbeing provider, Health Assured, and thereby extends the support that we are able to offer.
The EAP service is completely confidential and only statistical information relating to the usage of the service is passed to the university. All Health Assured consultants providing the service are bound by strict ethical codes of conduct and confidentiality. If you wish, you may remain anonymous when using the service.
The Health Assured consultants are experienced support workers who will provide an inclusive service regardless of age, sex, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, martial or civil partnership status.
To access these services at any time, day or night, simply dial:
UK Freephone number: 0800 716 017 (if calling from a DMU Lync telephone the quick dial is 0101)
Calling from overseas: +44 (0)1455 254 198
Minicom number: 0845 600 5499
Once you get through to the support centre, state that you work for De Montfort University and tell them what you need help with. You’ll then be transferred to the most appropriate professional.
The EAP offers 24 hour access to counselling and legal information, offering support on issues which specifically affect lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans employees. The Health and Wellbeing suite includes an online check for you to calculate your real health age. Simply visit their website and enter ‘dmu’ in both login boxes.
