Policy on incentivising staff to engage in Research and innovation activity
The aims of the policy are to:
- enable the University to build research capacity and capability in key areas;
- increase income and contribution from research grants and contracts;
- incentivise staff engagement in research and innovation by providing appropriate recognition and reward mechanisms for successful delivery of such activities;
- place research and enterprise activity at the university on a sustainable footing by providing ring-fenced support for networking, the pump-priming of research, early stage commercialisation work; and via the Institutional Publication Fund (IPF), to assist in the open access publishing of journal and conference papers.
