These 3 hour workshops combine discussions, group activities and opportunities for reflection. They specifically challenge the damaging myths surrounding ‘political correctness’ and focus instead upon matters of fairness and respect in the workplace. It will include details of the “protected characteristics” and the 2010 Equality Act. NB
. Staff wanting to act as a member of a recruitment panel must first attend this course or complete the Blackboard Equality & Diversity course.
This 1 day course is for all staff involved in recruitment and selection. The morning covers DMU processes and the afternoon is devoted to interview skills practice. Staff with current and extensive interview experience/training may, with the agreement of their HR Partner, choose not to attend the afternoon session. Depending on places available, staff can also take the afternoon session again as a refresher if they need to.
This short (90 minute) module is aimed specifically at the Recruiting Manager, and overviews their responsibility in the recruitment process. As with other Recruitment training, completion of Equality and Diversity training is a prerequisite.
This short (75 minute) module is aimed specifically at the Chair of the Panel (who may or may not also be the Recruiting Manager!). The Panel Chair has significant responsibilities for the whole process. As with other Recruitment training, completion of Equality and Diversity training is a prerequisite.
