Immigration and Preventing Illegal Working Guidelines

The University has a comprehensive set of guideline for preventing illegal working. The guidelines help support, the university, line managers and Human Resources to understand their responsibilities and legal requirements that have to be adhered to in order to recruit and employ migrant workers. There are also requirements that migrant workers must comply with, as a condition of their visa’s and employment which are also covered by the guidelines.  For more details, please click here.

The guidelines are designed to support the University to recruit and retain the most talented staff without compromising the legislative requirements.

Document Checking;

There is a requirement during the recruitment process to check documents to confirm that the prospective employee has the right to work in the UK.  The Home Office has published a guide on how to detect basic forgeries in identity documents when conducting employment status checks.
