An on-line video resource exploring the concepts of Diversity at work.
This resource was developed in order to explore the importance of Equality and how it is embedded with and by leaders at DMU. It is presented by Christine Nightingale, Head of Equality & Diversity and features Dominic Shellard (Vice-chancellor), Liam Davis (then President of the Student Union), Ben Browne (then Director of People and Organisational Development).
This course will introduce you to the idea of unconscious or 'hidden' bias and how it can impact on the workplace. It will give you the opportunity to think about situations where your own unconscious bias might affect your ability to make objective decisions.
Completion of this on-line course or attendance on the Equality and Diversity ½ day workshop is recommended for all DMU staff. The course is accessed via Blackboard and takes between 1½ and 2 hours. NB
. Staff wanting to act as a member of a recruitment panel must first complete this course or attend the 3 hour Equality & Diversity workshop.

A short (approximately 15 minute) course on skills useful in many work settings – not just the interview.
