How can social good be profitable?

Most social entrepreneurs are motivated by the social impact their work generates; however this is often juxtaposed with the need to generate enough income to survive. On one hand, the prevailing neoliberal capitalist mode of production is often accused of lacking a humane face as it is exclusively motivated by profit margins, at all cost. On the other hand, social good premised on charity is not sustainable; and state interventionist redistribution of wealth does not often yield the efficiency, productivity and social impact it is meant to generate.

This conference will be a creative space to show how social entrepreneurship can both do social good and be profitable to those who engage in it.

Summit objectives:-

  1.  To explore the theoretical frameworks underpinning social entrepreneurship and the nexus between profit and social good
  2.  To showcase great examples of successful social entrepreneurships
  3.  To create a networking space for upcoming social entrepreneurs
  4.  To share ideas of successfully setting up social enterprises.
