Dana Brown
Principal of Leicester Castle Business School

As Principal, Dana brings with her to Leicester Castle Business School a lifetime of experience at the top level of both global business and education. Raised in America and England, Dana completed her BA at Rutgers University in New Jersey, before being awarded a prestigious Rhodes scholarship to study at Oxford University, going on to complete her PhD at the internationally-renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dana’s love of retail and business started in high school, when she was able to work alongside a former chief executive of the legendary F.W. Woolworth company. Later, she played a key role in the formation of Amazon, working as Senior Manager of Operations in the period leading up to the company’s IPO.

Her academic career has involved positions at Rutgers University, EM-LYON Business School in France and prior to joining DMU, she was the director of the MBA at Oxford University’s Said Business School, a course consistently ranked as one of the best in the world. Dana also spent some years working in the Alfa Fellowship Programme, which sends young professionals from America, the UK and Germany on a professional development programme in Moscow. Dana is also involved with Warm Heart, a social enterprise providing opportunities for children and their communities in the Phrao region of Thailand.
