What is the Technology Programme?
The Collaborative Research and Development Technology Programme provides funding to the most innovative, marketable projects which will boost the UK economy in the strategically important areas of science, engineering and technology.
It enables businesses and research communities (eg a university) to work together on research and development projects from which successful new products, processes and services can emerge.
In the spring and autumn of each year businesses have the opportunity to compete for funding of projects which address the specific technology priority set for that competition period. Each project must consist of a consortium of two or more partners, at least one of which is from industry.
Cost
SMEs can be funded up to 60 per cent of their eligible project costs. Larger industrial partners can be funded up to 50 per cent of their eligible project costs. There are no set limits for funding; typical projects attract total funding between £2m and £5m.
