Funding sources

There are many sources of funding available to businesses to work with universities. Our knowledge transfer team can assist you to identify the funding schemes that are accessible to your organisation. 

Knowledge transfer is the process by which university expertise is shared with industry to encourage innovation and progress. Its overall aim is to identify methods to drive your industry forward.

Creative industries funding

Knowledge Catalyst| is a new scheme for SMEs that uses research in arts and humanities. Projects last for three to 15 months and funding contributes up to 60 per cent of costs.

Technology Programme

The Technology Programme| provides funding for commercial projects in the areas of science, engineering and technology. SMEs can receive funding to cover up to 60 per cent of the project costs and larger partners can receive up to 50 per cent of costs.

Research and Development

Grants for research and development| are for individuals and SMEs to develop new products and processes. There are several grants on offer targeting different projects, with grants of up to £500,000 available.
