Foundations of Cyber Security (CPD course)

Overview

This course will provide you with the baseline knowledge to meet the cyber security challenges that organisations face every day.

Structure and content

In this course, you will:

  • Learn about current threats, such as phishing attacks and how to establish best practice password policies.
  • Gain an understanding of the properties of encryption and how to use it to protect confidential data and email.
  • Use tools to capture and analyse IP based traffic to identify malicious activity.

This CPD course is designed for people employed in IT, financial and HR management; systems and network administrators; law enforcement officers and agents or anyone seeking to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of cyber security.

This CPD course is delivered by our experts from the Cyber Technology Institute (CTI). 

The Institute is led by Professor Helge Janicke, and provides outstanding training and high quality research and consultancy services in the fields of cyber security, software engineering and digital forensics.
