Notice for Network Photocopier Equipment, Digital Printing and Scanning Solution

EU Restricted Tender Procedure

Expressions of interest are invited for the supply, installation, maintenance of network digital photocopier, digital printing and scanning solutions comprising of black on white only, black on white with colour capacity and colour.

Here are the main features of the required solution:
 
• Principally for new (unused) digital photocopier equipment, this will be detailed in the Invitation to Tender (ITT).
• The requirement for quality refurbished digital copiers will only be considered subject to service commitments and performance levels commensurate with new machines.
• All applicants must demonstrate an ability to service the requirements,   (approx. 120 machines) in terms of adequate capacity and support, further details will be specified in the ITT. 
• Coverage of all campuses in Leicester and Bedford UK – see www.dmu.ac.uk
•  All hardware and software necessary to support printing, copying and        scanning of documents
• An open solution to cater fully for PC, Apple, Linux, UNIX and other types of user.
• Capability to transfer print and scan files between computers and output devices
• Economical selection of output device for printing
• Comprehensive management information to show use of solution, facilitate recharging, show individual usage, show departmental usage and usage by output device
• Access for all staff/students whatever their location at any particular time
• Fail safe features in case of network outage that will record and automatically recover management information whilst the solution is in “walk-up” mode during any outage. This is to provide continuity of management information
• Flexibility to change numbers, locations and types of output devices throughout the contract
• Anticipated five year contract duration
• Option to pay the contractor or contractors for the whole solution through a cost per copy mechanism
