Notice for the supply, installation, maintenance and support of an Augmented Virtuality Platform to facilitate the research in developing “Collaborative Training Environment for Surgical Teams”Tender reference 430De Montfort University’s Mechatronics Research Group is engaged in leading edge research in the field of virtual engineering. One of the key strands of research is in the area of Collaborative Training Environment for Surgical Teams. To support our research in this field we are planning to procure an Augmented Virtuality Platform to facilitate development of such collaborative training environment for surgical teams; and development of other applications related to the Mechatronics research. The required platform should consist of software, a virtual reality-authoring platform and hardware, an augmented–reality platform. The Augmented Virtuality Platform is to be installed and commissioned on the University's city campus in Leicester on or before 31 March 2008. The award criteria for this procurement will be: conformance to specification, capability and capacity to supply and maintain and the estimated whole-life cost of the platform consisting of hardware and software.
