Estates Helpdesk Home

 

Porterage (i.e. movement of furniture)
Postal deliveries, collections of recyclable materials and the movement of furniture and equipment is carried out by dedicated post/porterage officers.
 
 

Cleaning
Cleaning is carried out by a dedicated cleaning team. Most buildings are cleaned in the early morning (6am-9am) or evening (5.30pm-8.30pm) by part-time cleaning staff.  Full-time staff are available to respond to urgent requests for cleaning, undertake external cleaning and check & maintain cleaning standards in public areas during the day. 
 

Maintenance & Repairs
Reactive maintenance (i.e. light bulb replacement, broken doors, grounds maintenance etc) is carried out by dedicated maintenance staff. Specialised maintenance and repairs may be dealt with by external contractors.
 

Any requests for porterage, cleaning and maintenance can be arranged via the Estates Services Helpdesk which is set up to receive requests electronically and by telephone. Please see our Estates Intranet Helpdesk page for further details of this service (can only be accessed by DMU staff).
