Future Projects

Exciting developments in key areas of the ongoing £200 million campus regeneration are well underway.

Leisure centre
Work is starting in April 2011 on a new leisure centre for students and the general public, boasting a 25 metre swimming pool, eight sports courts, gym, studios, a climbing wall and a café. It is expected to be completed in July 2012.

New buildings and refurbishments
Work continues on refurbishing the former Gateway College buildings which now house DMU’s Centre for English Language Learning. In May 2011, work will start to create a third Learning Zone, providing a relaxed and comfortable study environment from autumn.

The refurbishment of Bosworth House will be completed in July 2011. The building will house nursing and midwifery students moving from the old Charles Frears campus.

Health centre
DMU has sold land on Grasmere Street to allow space for a brand new Health Centre. This is currently being built, and will provide a full health care service for both DMU students and the local community.
