Simon Ambrose

Vice-Chancellor's Chief of Staff

Simon Ambrose has worked at De Montfort University (DMU) since 2003 in a number of roles. He was appointed Vice-Chancellor’s Chief of Staff in October 2014, having previously worked as Executive Officer to the Vice-Chancellor.

Simon is responsible for providing broad executive and strategic support to the Vice-Chancellor and is the senior point of contact within the Vice-Chancellor’s office. He is also responsible for the Executive, Governance and Legal Services directorate, based in Trinity House, which includes the office of the Clerk to the Board of Governors and the Executive Board secretariat.

Simon graduated in Law and European Study (French) from the University of Exeter and began his career in higher education at the University of Leicester, working as a personal assistant in the vice-chancellor’s office.

In 2008, he was awarded an MBA through DMU’s part-time executive programme.
