School of Media and Communication
Since the earliest days of human expression through cave art and the development of writing systems, Media and Communication have driven the development of civilisations and cultures. They lie at the heart of modern life, underpinning how we work, play, govern, romance, worship, persuade and educate.
The School of Media and Communication specialises in communication in its broadest sense and in understanding the contribution that media make to modern life. Subjects include graphic design, illustration, advertising, film studies, media studies, public relations, journalism, photography, video, animation, game art and holography, as well as the history of cinema, television and photography.
The School offers a strong and wide-ranging portfolio of undergraduate| and postgraduate| programmes and research| drawn from both traditional and new disciplines where the focus is on real world challenges.
Our distinctive combination of creative practice, often using the latest media technologies, critical analysis and professional skills allows students to develop their academic and critical competencies as well as their professional, technical and communication abilities.
