DMU Racing in Formula Student

formula-student-logo- Run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Formula Student challenges universities from across the world to design, build and race a single seat racing car in one year. The cars are then judged on their speed, acceleration, handling and endurance, while the teams are tested on their design, costing and business presentation skills. DMU Racing is proudly entering its fourth year competing in Formula Student. Equipped with a CBR600RR Honda engine and spaceframe chassis, this year’s aim is to develop a car which satisfies all the criteria; it is light weight, powerful, safe, reliable, well designed and engineered whilst at the same time being economical and cost effective, and most of all it's fun to drive.

With the support of the Faculty of Technology, the team has improved year on year. Last year it suffered an engine failure resulting in retirement but thanks to our best ever static judging result we finished in our highest ever position. The team would like to thank all of our sponsors and associates for their support and commitment to the team and hope they continue for the 2016 season.
