BA Hons Communications Arts year 2 students Ben Cree, Sam Jones and Alex Obi Ezekpazu exhibited looping seasonal animations for the Highcross Beacons this Christmas.Tina Barton, Andrew Leek and Jo Tallack, General Manager for Highcross, viewed detailed presentations from the students responding to a call for seasonal display on the state-of-the-art digital light sculpture in St Peter's Square.
All three students' work were selected to play to an estimated passing audience of over 2 million visitors during December, and garnered positive comment via social media feeds during the holiday period.
The students worked hard to come up with designs for the LED-based moving image media, with a 360° viewing space, meeting both conceptual and technical challenges within a tightly-specified timeframe.All three were commended for their creativity and application to showcase rising local talent in a busy public space at the heart of Leicester'scommercial district.You can find out more at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwDaJwZS5Ss.
