A Leicester law firm run by a De Montfort University associate law lecturer has become the first legal practice in the East Midlands to secure membership to the Law Society's new Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS). Solicitor Oliver Charles’ firm had to be assessed by the Law Society to gain the status, in recognition of its high standards in residential conveyancing. Oliver is also an alumnus. Law Society president Linda Lee said the scheme "recognised standards in the home-buying process and helped deter fraud in the residential property market."
