SLSA 2012 Conference Overview
SLSA Prize Draw Winner
The prize draw was held at 2pm on Thursday April 5th 2012 in the base room and the winner was drawn by one of our student helpers watched by conference staff and students. The conference team are delighted to announce that the winner of a PC Tablet is Anna Rita Popoli, University of Bologna, Italy. Congratulations go to Anna from Gavin, Andre, Martin and Kate.
AGM
SLSA members are invited to attend the AGM which will be held on Wednesday lunchtime on 4th April from 1pm. Venue: Hugh Aston 0.10
The SLSA Executive Committee will be held in Hugh Aston 3.96 at 2pm on Thursday April 5th.
Tuesday evening – April 3rd
Following the Palgrave Macmillan drinks reception in the Student Campus Centre, delegates will have the opportunity to socialise and dine at one of a number of local restaurants|. If you would like to join a group to dine at a particular restaurant, please convene at the entrance to the Campus Centre at 8pm.
Wednesday evening – April 4th
Conference Dinner
The SLSA annual conference dinner, sponsored by Leicester De Montfort Law School, will take place in the City Rooms Leicester. The meal will start at 7.30pm. Centrally located, the City Rooms are within easy walking distance of Hugh Aston and hotels in the area. Funding and Capacity Building for Socio-Legal Research –
A Panel Discussion with Sharon Witherspoon MBE, Deputy Director of the Nuffield Foundation, Professor Caroline Hunter, Law School, University of York (Chair) and Dr Antonia Layard, Cardiff Law School.
This session aims to give delegates the opportunity to discuss the importance of building strength in socio-legal research alongside strategies for optimising future socio-legal research funding success with one of the UK’s major funders and two SLSA members who have experience of different funding opportunities.
