Here at the Department of Politics and Public Policy, you will be part of a thriving research community which welcomes and supports researchers at all stages of their career. The Public Policy and Governance research group focuses on researching the delivery of public services in local government, housing and health. Its work is carried out by three research units; the Local Governance Research Unit and the Health Policy Research Unit. These research groups offer postgraduate students the opportunity to see Public Policy and Governance research in action and benefit from the supportive research environment to help them through their course.
Not only is the Department of Politics and Public Policy recognised for its research output, but it has also been recognised as a centre of teaching excellence. It is the only Politics Department in the UK with two National Teaching Fellows. Such awards are bestowed only upon those with an excellent pedigree in teaching.
