Congress to Campus and European Parliament to Campus
DMU’s innovative Congress to Campus and European Parliament to Campus activities have been put in place in order to give students and local college pupils the opportunity for a first-hand insight into real life international politics.
Both of the conferences see former and current members of the US Congress and European Parliament join us on campus to discuss a range of trending political topics and answer questions from the audience.

Congress to Campus 2017 - Wednesday 8 November 2017
Congress to Campus forms part of a week-long schedule of events, with sessions also taking place at The British Library. We are proud to welcome honourable former members of congress (FMCs) Sam Farr (Democrat – California) and Dan Benisheck (Republican – Michigan) who will take part in this year's sessions.
The schedule for the day is as follows:

10.00am - Welcome & Introductions
10.15am - The Party Political Balance in Washington - Professor Philip Davies and the FMCs
11.15am - The 21st Century Presidency - Dr Clodagh Harrington (De Montfort University) and FMCs

1.00pm - The Roberts Court and Contemporary Politics - Dr Alex Waddan (University of Leicester) and FMCs
