With a vision to manufacture the best commercial vehicles in Europe, a robust HR plan to deliver the right people with the right skills at the right time is crucial to underpin the operational strategy. GM sought to complete the skill set of future managers and supervisors with a degree level management qualification.
DMU designed a bespoke pathway which focussed on key areas impacting every day management in a way which prompted participants to challenge current practices. Delivered on site at GM, a three stage modular pathway allowed students to build their study skills before confidently moving to the next level. Taught workshops complemented practical experience, e-learning and self-study to provide a rounded learning environment which also minimised disruption to student’s work roles.
Reflective learning was at the core of the programme to development a cyclical process of application, experience, assessment and development thus increasing critical thinking skills and establishing a process of continuous personal development.
