Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Trust Case Study
Leadership Skills for Managers in the Health and Social Care Sector
“We have worked with De Montfort University for a number of years and have always found them to be extremely helpful and accommodating whilst always retaining a highly professional and reputable service.”
Providing care to those experiencing health problems, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest mental health trusts in the country. A programme was sought to develop and consolidate the management skills of staff and allow them to achieve a postgraduate qualification as part of their Personal Development Plan.
The Managing Health and Social Care programme provided the ideal solution by offering a structured postgraduate award with the flexibility to include locally relevant live issues to which students could apply their learning. Additionally, the programme includes action learning sets which provide students with a confidential environment to discuss personal work challenges and explore alternative strategies to resolve them.
