BusinessWorks is a project designed and run by De Montfort University to build stronger links between the student community and local businesses. Students are provided with opportunities to work on projects for organisations in private, public and not-for-profit sectors that associate with BusinessWorks to address some of their current business needs.
BusinessWorks aims to identify with partners possible projects that would benefit them and that can be fulfilled by students undertaking studies in the appropriate fields. This enables BusinessWorks to provide solutions to the diverse business community of Leicestershire by addressing their needs. In so doing BusinessWorks also enables students taking part to expand their experience and build a portfolio of activities that adds to their CVs. Students get opportunities to work on real company issues and problems, enhancing their practical experience and their network of contacts. This in turn, prepares them for employment.
