The periodic review event

Stage one of the review is a preliminary meeting between the panel chair, servicing officer, faculty Head of Quality|, and key representatives from the subject team. This should take place approximately four weeks before the review event. The meeting is used to agree what key issues should be discussed during review and shape the overall agenda for the event. Consequently, the subject team will know what, if any, additional documentation is required. The meeting will normally last couple of hours – a sample agenda is available in the guide to periodic review.
Stage two is the review event itself, normally lasting one day. Some visits may take longer if the provision is large and complex – subject providers and the panel chair will agree arrangements mutually. During the review event, the panel will have the opportunity to talk with staff and students and look at resources. An opportunity to view examples of good practice should also be provided.
