De Montfort University boosts Leicestershire Business Awards
De Montfort University (DMU) is maintaining its long-time support of the prestigious Leicestershire Business Awards.
Following 15 years supporting the Leicestershire Business Awards (LBA), DMU is once again backing the annual competition, cementing the university’s position as an influential business leader in the East Midlands.
The awards are renowned for being one of the region’s premier business networking events, attracting the most successful and innovative companies.
Stephen Peak, director of Corporate Development at DMU, is a member of the judging panel and over the past 15 years he has presented trophies to many of Leicestershire’s most outstanding companies.
He said: “Supporting the LBA is just part of DMU’s commitment to local businesses and we look forward to once again celebrating their achievements and encouraging further excellence. We are delighted to be able to support the LBA at a time when businesses are facing such tough economic challenges and see this as just one of the many ways in which universities can make a difference in the communities around them.
“At De Montfort University we focus on understanding the needs of business and the professions, and we are proud to work with firms on a daily basis identifying ways to enhance their products or services by providing expertise from our distinctive portfolio of skills and research.”
As well as highlighting business excellence, the awards provide an opportunity to develop relationships and share best practice.
The awards gala dinner in April 2012 is expected to attract around 600 influential business leaders, and in the build up to the awards there will be a series of business briefing events featuring eminent speakers to lead discussions on topics relevant to the current economic environment.
