DMU's Wall Street alumni share fond memories of university

Alumni from De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) now working on Wall Street had the chance to meet and catch up at a special reception.

The event, held in the heart of New York’s Finance District, was organised by DMU’s Alumni department to reconnect with graduates who have gone on to work for world-leading companies.

Tanu Rishi came to DMU from India’s Daly College, Indore, and is now vice-president of Market Risk Management for the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi in Wall Street.

She graduated in Business Administration and Finance from DMU in 2002 and went on to study her MBA in Cleveland State University in America.

Tanu, a chartered financial analyst, said: “DMU was a great experience, I enjoyed it very much. I have been working or studying in America since I left. Working in Wall Street is exciting, very busy  but I have made a lot of friends and connections.”

Mamodou Kanuteh was at DMU from 2001-2005. He graduated in Business and Finance, before doing a Master’s with DMU’s Graduate School. He is now a controller for an accountancy company in the heart of Wall Street but retains fond memories of DMU and stays in touch on Facebook.

He said: “I saw DMU do a live Facebook broadcast and I sat and watched it for an hour, I couldn’t believe how much it was changing. The new buildings look fantastic it is so different.”
