She will discuss how she broke into the financial world and give her tips for finding a role at an investment firm, talking students through how she built her own career.

Before working as a global economist with CCM, Janet  - who completed a BSc Economics and MBA in Finance at the London School of Economics and Cambridge – worked for banking giant Citi, as a relationship manager.

Having gained her CFA charter – internationally-recognised accreditation as a chartered financial analyst – Janet will talk to students about the importance of the accreditation and the practical experience of achieving it.

She will also talk about the skills and experience employers in the financial industry are looking for.

Janet’s talk will be of particular importance to students on the Global Finance BSc, accredited by the CFA.

The talk will take place within the Leicester Castle Business School, which opened to students earlier this year.

Over the last year, contractors have carefully brought the Great Hall – a former courthouse which has been disused since 1992 - back into life, restoring its original features and incorporating them into a sophisticated, professional design.

The resulting building is a blend of the historic and the modern, giving LCBS students a unique place to learn, providing the benefits of modern higher education while inspiring them with centuries of history.
