DMU is founded on the premise of providing skills that are relevant for the world of work and the professions.
We are committed to improving your employability so that once you graduate, you have the skills that employers are looking for, and work with employers to create courses that are relevant and instructional. Along with the embedded skills and work placements within our courses, we have a number of initiatives that allow you to gain meaningful work experience while you're at DMU.
Frontrunners is DMU's internal placement scheme. You can apply for posts within the university, helping departments and faculties with real tasks and projects, and working alongside current DMU employees.
While at DMU you can apply to become a Student Ambassador and help promote DMU by sharing your experiences with prospective students, parents, teachers and careers advisers.
We have an internal employment agency called Unitemps, which allows students with the relevant skills to fill certain temporary posts within the university, allowing them to put their skills into practice.
We have created an employability strategy which sets out our commitments to you while you're at the university, and details the actions that we will be undertaking until 2015.
