Mill Lane landscaping
Work to completely remodel and landscape Mill Lane - the main thoroughfare running right through the heart of DMU's campus - is almost complete.
The centre of campus has been turned into a striking public area of paths complete with seating, the same stone which was used to give Cathedral Square a makeover before the burial of Richard III, and rain gardens, which capture excess rainwater to feed trees and plants, and flower beds.
A large grassy area has been created in the grounds of the new Vijay Patel Building, with plenty of seating for students to enjoy. Mill Lane itself has been pedestrianised and resurfaced, with new lighting and landscaping completing the effect.
Work is due to be completed by early 2017.
