Personal profile

Sam’s teaching role centres on language development, learning development and critical thought – primarily through writing practices and enquiry based learning. His research interests centre on both the cognitive processes and teaching processes involved in language development and more general cognitive development.

He is primarily a language specialist, but holds degrees in computing, theatre, law, legal practice, linguistics and (in progress) education, and has enjoyed working in legal practice and policing before establishing his current academic practice.
Rekindling interests in forensics and pure linguistics, Sam is also on standby to act as a linguist for the Cyber Security Centre.
