Personal profile

Dr Fozzard is a part time Senior Lecturer in Interactive/Graphic Design and Technical Director of Visualize IT Ltd.  With an MSc in Computer Science and PhD in computer based modelling, he became interested in photorealistic imaging and simulation in the early 90s and he designed and developed CAD studio applications for the Clothing and Textiles Industry.  His interest in application design and development, HCI, interface design and imaging found a natural home in the then new discipline of Multimedia Design and he taught extensively on BA Hons Multimedia Design and BA Hons Graphic Design for Interactive Media.  From 2012 - MA Multimedia Design and BA Graphic Design Interactive Pathway.

Dr Fozzard is particularly interested in photo-realistic modelling and simulation and user interface design to present and interact with virtual products in e-commerce environments.  He has technical skills in the design and development of Rich Internet Applications and Apps, some of which have gone on to win prestigious awards.

Ann Arbor, MI, Oct. 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The International Academy of the Visual Arts W3 Awards has released the winners of its 7th annual web competition, and "The Art of Window Dressing" is among them.  The Hunter Douglas iPad application has been granted the 2012 Silver Award in the Mobile Applications - Shopping category.  This is the third award "The Art of Window Dressing" has won this year.  It was previously named Best Consumer Goods Mobile Application and Best Design Mobile Application in the first international Web Marketing Association MobileWebAwards.

This innovative custom photo and online visualization tool allows visitors to upload their own room setting photos and view all the Hunter Douglas products – more than 4,500 material, colour and fabric choices – on their windows.  House Beautiful.com and DIYnetwork’s Online Relaunch were finalists in the category, but the Upload Your Own Photo feature on the Hunter Douglas iMagine Design Center won. 

The OMMA Awards are sponsored by Tremor Media and Eyewonder and were conferred at a gala reception at the New York Hilton during the OMMA Global New York Conference and Expo.  There were close to 700 entries in this prestigious awards competition, which is judged by leaders in the field.
