Personal profile

Simon Moralee's work revolves around management and organisational theory, with specific focus on health care management, as well as international health care systems and health economics. Simon is a University Teacher Fellow whose focus is on student-centred learning and building staff capacity to innovate.

Simon currently teaches on several modules within the BA (Hons) Health Studies and BSc (Hons) Public and Community Health degree programmes and the MA/MRes Applied Health Studies. He also supervises dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate level and is the module leader for students undertaking BA (Hons). dissertations in Health Studies and Public & Community Health.

Simon is also the Programme Leader for Medical Education, working with the East Midlands Local Education and Training Board on new GP trainer development and mentoring for health care professionals. In addition, Simon has worked with Leicester City Council on management and leadership development for social work managers and with Leicester/Leicestershire GP groups on developing commissioning skills. 

In terms of research, Simon is currently part way through a PhD in Institutional Change focussing on individuals' experiences of change to medical education.

My current doctoral studies focus on institutional actors' experiences of creating and developing changes to medical curricula that encompass knowledge and skills development in leadership and management.
