Personal profile

Dr Hadi obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Pakistan. He then went on to complete MSc in Clinical Pharmacy from Malaysia and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Leeds, UK. Dr Hadi has diverse international teaching and research experience.

Prior to joining the Leicester School of Pharmacy, Dr Hadi worked as Research Fellow in Applied Health Research at School of Healthcare, University of Leeds.

In the past, he has held academic positions at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, Monash University, Sunway Campus, Malaysia, and Umm-Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia. His broad research interests encompass health services research, medication safety, medicines optimization and pharmacy practice.

From systematic reviews and meta-analyses to mixed-methods studies, he has employed various methodological techniques to answer different research questions, as appropriate. Dr Hadi has published over 45 papers in international peer reviewed journals including The Lancet, PloS One and BMJ Open.

He has also presented his research work at various national and international conferences. He is currently editorial board member of BMC Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice and Archives of Pharmacy Practice and frequently review papers for various leading medical and pharmacy journals.

He is also Associate Editor for the BMC Health Services Research Journal. He is also project manager for a newly formed Medication Errors Special Interest Group (ME-SIG) at the International Society of Pharmacovigilance, a global organization promoting safe and effective use of medicines.
