Personal profile

Omar is a qualified solicitor and worked as a Crown Prosecutor and a defence solicitor before entering academia. He has lectured at De Montfort, Birmingham, Leicester, Loughborough and Sunderland Universities. On the LLB programmes, Omar lectures Criminal Law, Land Law and Electronic Commerce. On the LLM, he is responsible for Business Law in the UK & EU. Omar also lectures on the Legal Practice Course. His primary research interest is how best to protect sexual autonomy in the Criminal Law.

In addition to his academic duties, Omar is a consultant at Hanson Young Solicitors. He has also advised the Ministry of Defence, Hampshire Constabulary and Jane’s Intelligence Review.
