Personal profile

Donna started her accountancy career in practice gaining a solid foundation in the preparation of financial statements for smaller clients. She then moved into industry and worked in various senior Management Accounting roles for a multinational automotive company.

Her ten years in industry gave Donna a wealth of experience to share with the students and make their learning experience more interesting and understandable. Donna qualified as a Management Accountant with CIMA during this time and subsequently moved into teaching professional accountancy qualifications in 2008.  Donna joined DMU at the start of 2014 as a lecturer and was promoted to senior lecturer in 2019.

Donna is keen for the employability skills of the students to complement their academic ability and so has been involved in organising several employability conferences for the undergraduates.  In addition, Donna is a placement mentor supporting students on their placement year and she feels that her industry experience helps her in this role.
