Whilst training as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse Coopers, Dawn was seconded as a teaching Fellow to Manchester University and that started her interest in lecturing. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and also as a tax specialist with PWC Dawn joined their tax training department and later moved to De Montfort University in 1992.
Dawn moved to BPP Professional Education in 1994 and became the Deputy Centre Manager and Director of BPP Birmingham Ltd, responsible for tax courses and holding the Human Resource role. She has taught on a wide range of courses for all of the professional institutes including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) the Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) and the Association Accounting Technicians (ATT).
Dawn re-joined De Montfort University in April 2010 and is currently the ACCA Programme Leader. She also encourages good working practices through the “Smarter Working Practices” initiative that has been implemented over several years in the department.
