Chathuni Jayathilaka has an LLB (Hons), First Class and a PhD in law from the University of Edinburgh. She took up a lectureship in law at Leicester De Montfort Law School in 2015.
Chathuni's research interests are in the area of private law, and lie at the interface between contract law, property law and commercial law. Chathuni has a particular interest in legal history and Scots private law; and her work draws on comparative perspectives from England, Germany, France and South Africa. She is currently working on a long-term research project on the Scots contract of sale.
