Honours and awards

The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Financial and Management Accounting Committee (FMAC) Articles of Merit programme 2000 international award for the article “Financing renewable energy: creating the right package of incentives for a level playing field for commercial electricity production from wind turbines” jointly authored with David Russell. This award was for recognition as one of the ten best articles world-wide amongst all the professional bodies’ publications during the year.

Externally funded research grants information

TLTP Byzantium, a six English University Consortium Project (1993-98) funded under the Teaching and Learning Technology Programme (TLTP) of the Higher Education Funding Councils of UK. Research grant: £800,000. Role: Software Director – supervising research assistants developing the learning software. Lead Institution: De Montfort University. Collaborators: University of Huddersfield, Liverpool John Mores University, University of Middlesex, University of Plymouth, University of Teesside.

The project was one of the 12 successful projects from the 76 projects funded under the TLTP Phase I and II funding. It was also one of the 5 projects whose products were in use at institutions other than consortium members 3 years after the end of the TLTP Phase II and was invited at the launch of the Institute of Learning & Teaching in Higher Education (ILTHE) to exhibit under the innovative teaching methods section.
