David Boydon has an international profile in the field of English Language teaching, learning and assessment, working as an educational consultant for the British Council in China and as a visiting professor and consultant at Thai Nguyen University in Vietnam and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University In Thailand. David is Principal Lecturer in English Language and has been with De Montfort University for 20 years. He contributes to the MA in English Language Teaching (for which he is module leader for the Teaching of Receptive and Productive Skills) and to modules in English for Academic Purposes.
His current areas of research include the development of strategies for resisting linguistic imperialism in the English language classroom and the status of non-native English speaking teachers. David is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a member of the Centre for Intercultural Research in Communication and Learning

Chinese national EFL journal: Adapting Business Textbooks towards a more communicative approach. This Led to a presentation of a Conference paper at the National EFL Teachers’ conference in China in 1993.
Delivered presentation on the native v. non-native speaking teacher debate at the IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language) conference.
